Young Scholar Travel
Grants
*The deadline for the
2009 meeting was June 1st, 2009. We are no longer accepting
applications for this scholarship. For information on registration,
please see the Annual Meeting 2009 Information page.
The Translational Research on Child
Neglect Consortium (TRCNC) will provide travel grants to a small
number of young scholars to attend the upcoming 2009 meeting at the
University of Southern California on September 10th and 11th, 2009. A major
goal of the TRCNC is to promote research career development. Those
awarded Young Scholars Travel grants will receive additional mentoring
from a senior faculty member of the TRCNC on their research careers
and future grant submissions as part of the annual meeting.
To be considered for this grant, applicants should send:
* a completed application;
*
a copy of your curriculum vitae (CV) or biosketch;
*
a one-page description of your current research and your interest in
child neglect; and
*
a letter of support from a supervisor or mentor.
As the travel
stipends are meant to go to young scholars (postdoctoral, minority and
young investigators) who would not be able to come to the meeting
without some financial support, a cover letter should explain why
attendance would not be possible without financial support.
Women and those from underrepresented groups, including racial/ethnic
minorities, are encouraged to apply.
